Vice President Mike Pence visited the Hampton University Proton Therapy Institute (HUPTI) to support the University’s efforts in providing state-of-the-art cancer research and care to the Hampton Roads community and beyond.
HUPTI is one of the largest free-standing proton therapy centers in the world and a long-standing partner of SAH Care, hosting international patients referred through SAH’s medical treatment abroad program.
The visit highlights the growing recognition of proton therapy as a precision treatment that targets tumors while sparing surrounding healthy tissue — a particularly important advantage for pediatric and complex adult cases.
